Along the way, we come across all forms of shining lights in our community. Some of them go on to forge thriving careers in the arts that give back to society. One such individual is, Varshini Pichemuthu. An actress, spoken-word artist, host and librarian in Singapore, she left for the UK to pursue her Masters in Applied Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. We’re so proud to have played a part in Varshini’s evolution as an artist and, her stunning dissertation which we’ve included here for your reference. In it, she queries the concept of hope in applied theatre in a postcolonial context.
