1. Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has had a long successful career as an actress, having made her film debut at the age of 13 with the movies Camp Nowhere and The Secret World of Alex Mack. What people might not know is that the star best known for her role as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four movie series is also the founder of a billion dollar company. In 2011, Alba started her own consumer goods company called The Honest Company. By October of 2017, the company was said to have a value of almost a billion dollars.
2. George Clooney
The hit medical drama ER made George Clooney a household name in the 90s, and he has since become one of the most celebrated actors of all time. However, acting is not Clooney’s only passion. Tequila, his other love, proved to be perhaps even more lucrative. In their quest to formulate a tequila that you could sip all day without feeling hungover the next day, Clooney and his friend created their own tequila known as Casamigos. Casamigos was a huge success, and the company was sold to the alcohol brand Diageo for a billion dollars in 2017.
3. Shah Rukh Khan
The King of Bollywood needs no introduction. Not only has he acquired an impressive list of acting accolades, Shah Rukh Khan has also made a name for himself in the production sector. He is, along with his wife, the co-owner of Red Chillies VFX, the largest visual effects studio in all of India. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also happens to own the Kolkata Knight Riders, statistically the richest and most financially successful IPL cricket team in the league. It seems that Khan makes a splash wherever he goes and in whatever he does.
4. Reese Witherspoon
The Legally Blonde actress has not just one but three successful business ventures under her belt. In 2012 she co-founded Pacific Standard, a production company which went on to produce box office hits such as Gone Girl. In 2015, she shifted her focus from production to lifestyle and started her clothing brand Draper James. In the same year, the brand would acquire $10 million in investment and have their clothes distributed in Nordstrom stores around the country. She has recently set her sights on loftier goals, with the creation of multimedia company Hello Sunshine which aims to bring literary works of women to TV and film.
