Programme Description

In Devising, the company comes together to create something greater than the sum of its parts and uses each of our unique talents to do it.

There are a million ways to devise a production and all roads lead to Rome, however this workshop chooses to approach the process through the creation and exploration of character. Rather than be initially limited by an idea of a place or story, the workshop will begin with the most important thing of all… people.

Together we’ll create dozens of characters and go on a search to find those that have something interesting to share with us. It’s from those characters that we’ll begin to develop a story and setting for the play, a journey that could lead us literally anywhere.

Devising is the process of creating an entire production without a script from the tiniest of beginnings. Join Toby Papazoglou in this exciting and satisfying journey of theatrical exploration.
