With over 30 years of experience in the theatre field (even working with Jerzy Grotowski himself in the 80s), Ralf Rauker is a maestro in Meyerhold’s Biomechanics. This ‘psycho-physical actor’s training’ will be happening for the first time at HCAC on 6 November!
Heavily involved in almost every aspect that theatre has to offer, let’s get to know a little bit more about this esteemed theatre maker.
We ask him 10 questions originally conceptualized by host Bernard Pivot from the French series “Bouillon de Culture”, and made famous by James Lipton, host of “Inside the Actors Studio”.
What colour best represents, Ralf Raeuker?
What is your favourite word?
What sound or noise do you hate?
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
What turns you off?
Any form of repression
What skill would you like to pick up in your life that you haven’t already?
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
What profession would you not like to do?
Performing Arts is the only profession I’m trained in. Any profession on this round planet would be interesting to work on as an actor or a director, if it’s a good script for a play or film… especially those jobs which really turn me off… like being a banker!
What is that one thing that makes you smile whenever you think about it?
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Welcome Ralf… by the way, we can leave that name and all that shit behind now! You wanted to become a musician on earth and didn’t make it? Ok, here is your chance! Come on Angels! Bring on that heavenly orchestra! No form of repression will restrict you! Bring on that Tango about Love, Love, Love!!! The sky is blue! Don’t be such cowards! Let the universe vibrate!!!
And please, put on some light son! Will yah?”
